Katy Perry was spotted on a yacht in Capri, Italy after she and fiancée Orlando Bloom ended their nine-year relationship.

The 40-year-old pop star was seen embracing Canadian talent agent Michael Kives as she took time off from touring to spend time with friends and family. Her ex and their daughter were also on board the luxury vessel. Orlando recently went stag at billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding in Venice while Katy was on tour in Australia. However, the two reunited over the fourth of July weekend on yacht with Michael as well as Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.

According to body language expert Judi James, the singer looked “relaxed” with Michael, and “their amount of eye contact suggests they know each other well.”

Katy wore a tiny black bikini paired with dark sunglasses and her hair slicked back on board the yacht, showing off her toned figure as she took time off from her busy touring schedule.

She and her male friend seemed comfortable with each other as they spent the day on the water. “His gesticulation, with his hands held out to his sides and the palms partially turned out, suggests he’s questioning her,” the expert concluded, “It’s the kind of gesture you often see when someone is asking another to make a decision, and it can also occur during an argument. His gaze seems to follow her about as though he’s trying to get her to decide on something.”

Though it may seem like it, she clarifies that “His hand is not on her bum or near it in the long shot, that appears to be an illusion created by the distant photography.”

The two were seen embracing. “Katy seems to cling to his neck with this hug and the way his head nestles into her neck and the way he smiles as he does so makes it way more than an air kiss or more formal greeting or farewell,” the body language expert said. “His hands do seem to be fully touching Katy’s back here, which suggests a very familiarity-based relationship. It could be friendship and he’s giving her a reassuring or consoling hug.”

“She looks very comfortable with him but it’s not possible from these poses to glean clues if this might be a romantic relationship,” she clarified.

Katy and Orlando’s reunion on the boat marks their first since publicly announcing their split. Reps for the couple released a joint statement that read, “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”

The exes began dating in 2016 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019, before welcoming daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020.
