Megan Moroney Confirms Her Relationship Status On VMAs Red Carpet

Sounds like she’s very single.

Earlier this year, rumors started swirling about a possible romantic relationship between country stars Riley Green and Megan Moroney. It first started after internet sleuths figured out the two were in St. Barth at the same time, and they were later seen at the airport together.

One fan even got a video of what looked like Megan and Riley riding around in his hometown of Jacksonville, Alabama in May.

But Riley repeatedly denied the rumors, saying he was single, while Megan played it a little more coy. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at her pop up bar The Emo Cowgirl at The Westin Nashville earlier this summer, Megan was asked if she confirmed that she and Riley were a couple, after she commented on a fans TikTok video who was showing off a t-shirt with a photo of Riley shirtless on the beach.

Megan was very vague with her response, saying that she just “wanted the T-shirt,” and hopes to be “getting it soon”:

“I said I wanted the T-shirt. Hopefully I’ll be getting it soon. Maybe that girl will send me hers.”

Well, fast forward a couple months, and whatever fling they were having seemed to end pretty abruptly when one of Megan’s fans wore the aforementioned shirt, which also has the phrase “Hoochie Daddy” on it, which Megan spotted from the stage.

Instead of smiling, winking, or even giving a subtle nod, which would “confirm” to fans that all their speculations about their relationship are true, she did something very different. She mouthed to the fan:

“He f***ed up.” 

So that was pretty much the end of those rumors, and we haven’t seen them together or heard about them being together since then, and Megan is now apparently very single, which she confirmed on the VMAs red carpet last night.

During an interview with Access Hollywood, the interviewer showed her a photo of four celebrity couples, remarking that “love is in the air” as they are all engaged to be married. She wanted to know which wedding Megan wanted to attend if she could pick one:

“Love is really in the air with musicians this fall… for these musicians, which wedding would you most like to attend?”

And Megan laughed as she responded love was “not” in the air for her this fall, confirming that she’s still on the market and seemingly looking for love:

“I don’t think so. Not for me.”

She also answered that she would attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding:

There you have it, internet. Megan is still single for now.

Megan also performed her hit “6 Months Later” during the show, in addition to being the first-ever winner of the brand-new VMAs Best Country award category, taking home the trophy for her hit single “Am I Okay?”.
