Miranda Lambert To Play In Celebrity Ryder Cup: “I’ve Played 22 Holes Of Golf In My Life”

The road to the Ryder Cup begins now.
We are 20 days and some change away from this year’s Ryder Cup. September 26-28, 2025, at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York. The famed golf tournament is unlike any other, putting a spin on the individual sport, turning it into a team effort. The Ryder Cup features a team of 12 of the top European golfers going head-to-head against 12 of the best players from the United States in a three-day, match-play competition.
While that competition style is riveting, golf fans also look forward to the Ryder Cup to see some of their favorite celebrities compete in the celebrity golf match. The celebrity cup only takes place every other year during the years that it is held in the United States, so the last celebrity cup was held in 2023 and featured stars like Novak Djokovic, football legends Gareth Bale and Andriy Shevchenko, F1 driver Carlos Sainz, actor Kathryn Newton, and former NFL player Victor Cruz.
While this year’s list of celebrities who will hit the links for the cup has yet to be confirmed, we do have one confirmed player —and it’s a good one.
EXTREMELY amateur golfer, Miranda Lambert, announced on September 3rd that she is planning on playing in this year’s celebrity cup:
“I’ve played 22 holes of golf in my life, and I’m playing the Ryder Cup this year. So we are on the road to the Ryder Cup, good, bad and ugly. Come with us.”
Lambert shares at the beginning of the video sporting an adorable pink and white golf outfit.
She expands on her efforts in the caption, which is great to read while watching her montage of good, bad, and ugly shots. But hey, we’ve all had our fair share of all those:
“Y’all, I’m playing in the celebrity Ryder Cup match later this month! Thanks to my coach, Dan Parker, The Troubadour Club, PXG, and my husband Brendan McLoughlin, I’m gonna give it hell. My pal Luke Bryan called and gave me a pep talk the other day and he encouraged me to bring y’all on this journey for moral support. So Day 1 here we go! Cheers to trying new things.”
Lambert is new to golf, but she appears to be dedicated to the challenging sport and is giving it her all. She picked up the hobby earlier this year as a way to spend time with her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.
It’s all for fun at the end of the day, so as long as he has a blast on the links, that’s all that truly matters. Either way, I’m sure that Lambert will crush it in the Ryder Cup. You go, girl.
