Jessica Simpson Attends First VMAs in Years with Shockingly Different Facial Appearance

Jessica Simpson has not had a lot of luck lately. Her recent singing gigs on American Idol and Today have been greeted with many callous or dismissive remarks. Per Whiskey Riff, “…[S]he’s been faced with harsh criticism after every major appearance she’s made this year.”

Simpson was at the VMAs last night for the first time in practically two decades. She was a presenter and a red carpet participant. The singer wore a black, mostly sheer ensemble with cutouts by designer Christian Siriano. But her evening attire was not what turned heads at the event. She looked totally different. Simpson’s face, I mean. The star just did not look like Jessica Simpson anymore.

For quite a while, Jessica Simpson, 45, has been focusing on her fashion line and taking care of her kids. She has not been completely absent from the stage or the recording studio, though.

Simpson dropped a studio LP 17 years ago. It did not reportedly wow anyone. That was followed by a holiday album in 2010. She also sang at Willie Nelson’s Luck Reunion in the spring of this year. In addition, she released an EP, Nashville Canyon, Part 1 in March, with Nashville Canyon, Part 2 following a few days ago.

Her ‘Today’ Appearance Was Not a Big Success

Simpson did an okay set on the popular NBC morning show. The fans who were there seemed to like it. But per the outlet, she seemed to encounter a significant wardrobe issue. Also, via Page Six. she had a bladder control problem, If Simpson was trying to get back into top form, this performance was not what she evidently needed.

The Singer’s Changed Face Caught People’s Attention

As the outlet noted, the skin on Simpson’s face seemed to be stretched very taut. Maybe way too much so. “Many social media users shared that they would not have realized this was Simpson without the caption denoting her presence on the carpet.” The effect was radically unlike her usual look. The word “unrecognizable” comes up frequently on the internet to describe it.
