Jessica Simpson flaunts 100-lb weight loss in tiny bikini for first July fourth since split

Newly single Jessica Simpson shared a photo of her celebrating Independence Day – and the first since her split from husband Eric Johnson. Jessica, 44, has revealed her 100lb weight loss to fans as she stunned in a small red bikini on Instagram.

In the mirror selfie, she paired her swimwear with a green button-down shirt, white sunglasses, and a navy ‘USA’ hat sitting on the sink, adding a patriotic spin to the look. The photo was posted alongside the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers song An American Girl.

It comes after the singer and actress admitted in 2019 that she had been on a weight loss journey after giving birth to her third daughter, Birdie. She revealed she had been following a meal plan and was walking 14,000 steps per day with help from celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, and has always shared images of her weight loss over the years.

Previously speaking about her weight loss, the star wrote on Instagram, “6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240). My first trip away from #BIRDIEMAE and emotional for many reasons, but so proud to feel like myself again. Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder.”

It was reported she had stepped up her fitness routine to benefit her mental health while in lockdown.

As well as the steps, Jessica added 45-minute workout sessions three days a week, and unplugged from technology and attempted seven hours of sleep a night to also help reset her mental health.

As well as exercise, Jessica kept her diet to three meals a day and two snacks from Harley’s Body Reset Diet. The singer has been candid about the pressure she felt to have the perfect body throughout her career.

Jessica shares daughters Birdie, six, Maxwell, 13, and son Ace, 12, with estranged husband Eric Johnson. The pair had been married for 10 years before their split, which they announced in a statement shared with People in January.

“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” the singer said.

“Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

One source told Us Weekly in May that the exes are still on good terms with one another and said: “They are getting along well and everyone seems to be very happy.

“They talk and see each other all the time and have decided that no matter what happens, they will get along for the kids.”
