There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding Tiger Woods‘ relationship with Vanessa Trump and the rumor that they are going to get engaged soon. Now, insiders close to the professional golfer are putting the brakes on that tea.
The source told the Daily Mail that there’s a solid reason for both Woods and Vanessa to put the marriage talk on ice. “Cynically, why should she get married? There’s no point of it, and it would just complicate her alimony from Donald [Trump Jr.],” the insider claimed. “And Tiger, of course, paid out a lot in his divorce from Elin [Nordegren], and I don’t think he’s particularly excited to do that again.”
Vanessa shares five children with Donald Jr.: Kai, 18, Donald III, 16, Tristan, 13, Spencer, 12, and Chloe, 11. Her settlement with Donald Trump’s eldest son is unknown, but Celebrity Net Worth estimates her fortune to be in the $75 million neighborhood.
Woods, who shares daughter Sam, 18, and son Charlie, 16, with Nordegren, paid out a reported tidy sum of $100 million in their 2010 divorce. “If you know Tiger, you know that he’s not the type to just get married at the drop of a hat,” added the source. “He has been with women for years and not done that. I think it would take a lot to get him to be a groom again.”
Still, the rumors have been rampant that Vanessa and Woods are fast-tracking their romance. On July 4, Page Six noted that Vanessa’s pals were sharing that the dynamic duo was “wedding bells serious” in their relationship. There is no engagement news to share so far, but the mom of five is reportedly head over heels for the golf legend.
“She’s so happy! She’s finally found happiness. She’s found happiness for the first time in her life,” they gushed.
Woods and Vanessa prefer their privacy and have bonded over their children’s love of golf — Woods’ son Charlie is following in his father’s footsteps, and her daughter Kai is committed to the University of Miami to play golf in the fall of 2026.
Neither of them has made any comment about their blossoming love, but Woods did post an uncharacteristically personal note on his Instagram page on March 23.
“Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side,” he wrote in the caption alongside two loving snapshots with Vanessa. “We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time, we would appreciate privacy to all those close to our hearts.”
