Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco revealed one Jewish tradition they’ll have at their wedding.
The couple — who announced their engagement in December 2024 — opened up about their future nuptials during a recent conversation with Interview Magazine. While Gomez, 32, doesn’t plan on converting to Judaism for her Jewish fiancé, the pair will incorporate a joyous Jewish tradition into their big day.
After being asked if they’ll have the hora at their wedding, Blanco, 36, answered, “Of course we will.”
During the circular celebratory dance, the bride and groom are often lifted in chairs by wedding guests.

The Only Murders in the Building star will participate in the hora, but she won’t become Jewish.
“I don’t think I’ll be doing that,” Gomez said of converting. “Not that it’s bad.”
Blanco supports his fiancée’s decision because of how their blended religions will positively impact their future children.
“No. We want our kids to have both of our values, both of our morals and hopefully when we mix them up in a pot they’ll—” the producer began with Gomez finishing, “Turn out good.”
Gomez identifies as Christian. While she doesn’t share the same faith as her fiancé, she has embraced Jewish traditions in the past. The pair — who started dating in June 2023 — celebrated the first night of Hanukkah together last year.
Less than a month after announcing their engagement, Gomez and Blanco enjoyed their first Christmas as an engaged couple at composer Benj Pasek‘s annual bash in New York. Among the other guests at Pasek’s party were Debra Messing, Judy Gold, Erin Lichy, Alex Edelman, chef Jake Cohen and Broadway star Adam Kantor.

“Some lonely Jews on Christmas getting lit. 🕎,” Cohen captioned a post on Instagram, sharing footage and pictures from the cozy and festive event.
In one clip, Blanco was out on the dance floor doing the hora to “Hava Nagila.” Depending on when his wedding date is, the next time he does the hora could be after he’s tied the knot with Gomez.
Aside from doing the hora, Blanco and Gomez don’t appear to be settled on other wedding details yet.
“Honestly, we haven’t even gotten that far,” Gomez said to Interview of her thoughts about destination weddings. “We want to be so happy right now in this moment.”
Blanco noted that “neither one” of them would be bridezillas.
