Lainey Wilson Fans Are ‘So Freaking Proud’ After the ‘Best Songwriter There Is’ Is Bestowed a Brand New Honor

Fans coulsn’t be more excited for “Country queen” Lainey Wilson after the rising star was named as the Academy of Country Music’s Artist-Songwriter of the Year.

The organization shared the news on July 9, announcing that the singer would be honored with the ACM Artist-Songwriter of the Year Award at this year’s Academy of Country Music Honors on Aug. 20.

“Lainey Wilson has always been a fan-favorite artist, but her talents as a songwriter have truly shined this past year,” a social media post revealing Wilson as the winner noted. “She co-wrote all 14 tracks on her latest album, Whirlwind, which also features her hit single ‘4x4xU.’ The song and album earned her three more nominations at the 60th ACM Awards, where she took home the coveted ACM Album of the Year Award.”

Fans were “so proud” to hear of the singer-songwriter’s latest milestone, with one cheering, “That’s My Girl!!!❤️🥹.”

“So freaking proud of @laineywilson 👏🏽♥️,” another gushed, as someone else celebrated, “HECK YEAH!! The best songwriter there is!! 💖🤠🏆✍🏻.”
