Andy Byron was described by former employees as a toxic boss, and pressure from Byron caused many employees to quit.

Not stopping there, according to information from Page Six, Andy Byron was accused of causing a lot of internal dissatisfaction while working at cybersecurity technology company Cybereason, where he held the role of chief revenue officer, from 2017-2019.

A former employee shared that the company initially grew very well, but the constant pressure from leadership to grow caused things to gradually get out of control.

“We started off on the right foot and were very successful, but with the pressure to grow people and revenue, it wasn’t enough to just be a fast-growing company. We had to be the fastest-growing company,” the person said, describing the experience as “disappointing.”

A 2018 article in The Information claimed that Byron “would become angry with employees who disagreed with him, even threatening to fire them.”

Sources told The Information that Byron’s poor management skills were cited as the reason for the departure of many employees. To fill the void, he recruited a series of sales staff from his old company, Fuze.

In an interview at the time, Byron said he was hired by Cybereason to help the company enter its next phase of growth, which meant “difficult decisions” that could “disappoint some individuals.” However, he denied any wrongdoing.

Years later, Andy Byron, now CEO of New York-based software company Astronomer, is also unpopular with his employees. At the time he was caught flirting with HR director Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert, another Astronomer employee was also present.

This raised suspicions that company insiders may have known about the relationship between the two senior leaders in advance, raising concerns about a lack of transparency in the working environment.
